EY degree student wins Princess Alexandra Medal

02 October 2012

Accounting and Finance student Jonathan Manson has been awarded one of seven Princess Alexandra Medals given to the highest performing undergraduate students at the University.

Jonathan was a student in the Department of Accounting and Finance between 2008 and 2012. He studied Lancaster's unique EY Degree - the BSc in Accounting, Auditing and Finance. The EY Degree is a four-year degree run in association with Ernst & Young which gives students a fast track to qualifying as a chartered accountant.

Jonathan said: ‘I enjoyed my time on the Ernst & Young degree, having graduated in July 2012. The degree was an extremely rewarding process which has left me well prepared for working life. As part of my graduation I received the Princess Alexandra Award from Lancaster University which was awarded to the students with the seven highest results in that year. It was an achievement that I am extremely proud of and can be directly attributed to the high-quality teaching in Lancaster University Management School and from my great experiences during my placements with Ernst & Young.’

Jonathan returned to Ernst & Young in September 2012 to start his permanent employment with them.
